Peovica Fortress - Mirabela, Omiš

Category
Castels, Palaces and Fortresses

The medieval fortress on the cliff above the town, on the steep slopes of Biokovo, was built at the time of the independent commune of Omiš, before the area was ruled by Venice.

By probing and injecting the stone wall with a special injection mixture, the static rehabilitation of the building was carried out. The partial rebuilding of the walls of the fortress with stone material identical to the existing one required the construction and installation of heavy load-bearing scaffolding over the entire area of the building on extremely inaccessible and demanding terrain.
